Mythmoot VI – Dragons! (2019)


Mythmoot VI: Dragons! took place at the National Conference Center in Leesburg, Virginia from Thursday, June 27 through Sunday, June 30, 2019. The program included talks by Diana Glyer, Katy McDaniel, Jacob Rodgers, and Tom Shippey. Paper presentations by conference participants covered a wide range of speculative fiction. It also included the traditional banquet on Saturday evening, with much food and merriment for all!

Call for Papers

Mythmoot VI sought proposals for presentations under 20 minutes long on the ever-present and ever-changing Archetypal Dragon! All proposals traversing literature in its wondrous variety were considered; themes of particular interest included:

  • Imaginative Literature – Harry Potter, Dune, The Call of Cthulhu, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Dresden Files, etc.
  • Tolkien and Inklings Studies
  • Classic Literature from Ancient Times to the Present
  • Philology
