Kris Swank holds positions on the faculties of Signum University and Pima Community College. She holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Glasgow and wrote her thesis on “The Creative Uses of Irish Literature in Works by J.R.R. Tolkien.” Kris also holds a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in Humanities and English (Dana College), and Masters degrees in Library Science (University of Arizona), International Management (Thunderbird), and Language and Literature (Signum University). She has been published in Journal of Tolkien Research, Mythlore, Tolkien Studies, and UKL: The Journal of Ursula K. Le Guin Studies, as well as several edited collections. She also serves on the editorial boards of Mythlore and UKL. At Signum, Kris teaches in the Tolkien Studies and Imaginative Literature concentrations and developed the course, “Ursula K. Le Guin: Worldbuilder.”
