Jennie Starstuff

Jennie Starstuff spends a lot of time thinking about how atoms that comprise you, her, and all the other life on this planet share a common origin in the interiors of long-forgotten stars. While studying Astronomy at the University of Virginia, she discovered that there are few joys to match that of connecting with others about the wonders of the cosmos. As a public school educator, she has created and taught lessons in biology, physics, engineering, genetics and general science. Jennie became a NASA-JPL Solar System Ambassador in order to share her love of the universe and the excitement of scientific discovery with those who inhabit our beautiful, complicated world. She also believes deeply in the power and importance of storytelling. Stories that have particularly captivated her include (but are certainly not limited to): the Tolkien legendarium, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Margaret Atwood’s Maddaddam trilogy, Bernard Cornwell’s Warlord Chronicles, and any story that another human is willing to share with her over a cup of coffee or a pint.

A red-haired woman of Euriopean descent and a brindled cat of mysterious provenance with startling green eyes both gaze upward. A background of stars and galaxies supports their out-of-this-world attitude!
