Spring 2013 Courses Arrive

Signum University is proud to announce that we will be offering our first ever “Encourse” presentation.  This Spring semester, students who missed Elementary Latin I when it was offered in Summer 2012 can enroll for both M.A. credit and for the joy of learning as auditors.  The discounted tuition includes access to the same lecture materials as before as well as the live preceptor experience, including discussion sessions. Learn more about this wonderful Latin language introduction today!

Over at our partner in learning, Mythgard Institute, students can discover worlds of the mind and of mythology and learn what hobbits, cyborgs, dragons, aliens and others can teach us about being human with three exciting classes.  Here are the course highlights:

  • Dr. Amy H. Sturgis returns for Part II of her Science Fiction class, in which she will continue the exploration of “What If?” through the literature of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
  • Tolkien Professor and Mythgard president, Dr. Corey Olsen will be getting behind the scenes on the development and adaptations of Tolkien’s beloved work in The Story of The Hobbit.
  • The legendary Dr. Verlyn Flieger invites students to journey with her into Tolkien’s World of Middle-earth in a fascinating 12-week study of his major fiction.
