Mythcon isn’t the only meetup on Mythgardians’ minds. This past month, Signum University announced it’s third iteration of the (nearly) annual Mythmoot conference — Mythmoot III: Ever On….
For the third Mythmoot conference, there will be elements that those who have attended in the past will recognize and look forward to, including:
- Discussions with Signum President Dr. Corey Olsen and special guests — past special guests have included author Peter Beagle, artists Jef Murray and Ted Naismith, and musician John Di Bartolo
- Papers on a wide range of topics in speculative fiction will be presented by participants
- A Saturday night banquet and reception for mingling with special guests, presenters and other attendees
- A hospitality suite, marketplace and more!
Of course, the events on the official docket are not the only ones to look forward to. Meeting together with Mythgardians from across the globe (usque ad ultimum terrae!) generates a host of opportunities to geek out — er, hold impromptu dialogues about a variety of weighty and serious matters.
For those who are hoping to share their academic research at Mythmoot, a call for papers on topics related to imaginative literature was recently announced on the Mythgard Blog. The deadline for proposals submissions is August 31, 2014, and notifications of acceptance will be received by September 30.
Mythmoot III will be held on Saturday, January 10 through Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the BWI Marriott in Linthicum, Maryland. Early-bird pricing is currently available for those who register by August 31. For full registration details, see the Mythmoot page.
