October 4, 2019 - 8:00 pm EDT

Join us on Oct. 4, 2019, at 7pm ET, when a panel of experts and Pullman enthusiasts will discuss the His Dark Materials and ongoing Book of Dust series shortly after The Secret Commonwealth‘s release.

We will be asking,

  • Why should we read Pullman’s work? What is the literary and cultural significance of His Dark Materials?
  • Pullman in context: How does Pullman’s work compare and contrast to that of other writers such as Lewis, Tolkien, Le Guin, and Rowling?
  • What are our expectations and hopes for The Book of Dust trilogy?

The event will end with a short reading of the first few pages of The Secret Commonwealth.
