Signum University is proud to present New England Moot on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at the Jones Library (Woodbury Room) in Amherst, Massachusetts. Dr. Corey Olsen, Founder and President of Signum University, will provide the keynote address.
As the moot will be held on Sunday, a number of optional activities are being planned for Saturday, as well (additional costs are not included in moot registration). See the Saturday Events section below for more information on those.
New England Moot Registration
Registration costs $30 and will include lunch. Registration will be accepted until the day of the event; however, if you want lunch, you must register at least three days before the event (by Sept. 26).
Hotel Rate – Econolodge
The moot organizers have a secured a discount rate at the Econolodge on Rt. 9 in Hadley for Sat. Sept. 28 of $159 per room for a regular room. Tax is additional.
Reservation must be made mentioning New England Moot 2019. The rate holds for reservations made until Sept. 25, 2019. Cancellations must be made by Sept. 25, 2019.
No specific number of rooms are being held and we will not be responsible for filling a given number. To reserve a room, call 413-582-7077. Individuals are responsible for payment, tax, and any damage charges.
Venue Information
New England Moot will be held at the Jones Library in the Woodbury Room. Please enter through the back door of the library. The Woodbury Room is just inside the back door to the right.
Parking
Amherst city parking is free on Sunday – see a parking map here.
- The Amity St. Lot is directly across from the Library (green on the map). If you park there or on the road, take the drive to the left of the library and walk into the garden behind the building.
- The North Pleasant St. Lot (orange on the map) is larger and more convenient.
- Take N. Pleasant St. one block to the CVS.
- Take the drive on your left between CVS and Miss Saigon.
- Do not use the spaces labeled CVS Customers Only.
- Between the hedge and the large dumpster will be a sidewalk into the garden behind the Library.
- Bear right along the back of the building to the back door of the library.

From VT and north:
- Pick up I91 South to exit 19, Rt 9 Amherst/Northampton.
- Turn rt. on Rt. 9 and immediately cross the Conn. River on the Coolidge Bridge
- 5 miles
- Turn left onto S. Pleasant St.
- Drive along the common to the center of town. 2 blocks
- Left onto Amity St.
- The Jones Library is the second building on your right.
From Hartford/New Haven and south:
- Pick up I91 North to exit 19, Rt. 9 Amherst/Northampton.
- Turn rt. on Rt. 9 and immediately cross the Conn. River on the Coolidge Bridge
- 5 miles
- Turn left onto S. Pleasant St.
- Drive along the common to the center of town. 2 blocks
- Left onto Amity St.
- The Jones Library is the second building on your right.
From the Berkshires, upstate NY and points west:
- Pick up I90 East/MA Turnpike (toll) to Exit 4 I91 N toward Holyoke.
- 12.9 mi. Take exit 19 Rt. 9 Amherst/Northampton
- Turn rt. on Rt. 9 and immediately cross the Conn. River on the Coolidge Bridge
- 5 miles
- Turn left onto S. Pleasant St.
- Drive along the common to the center of town. 2 blocks
- Left onto Amity St.

From the southern half of eastern MA, eastern Conn., and Rhode Island:
- Pick up I90 West/MA Turnpike (toll) to Exit 4 I91 N toward Holyoke.
- 12.9 mi. Take exit 19 Rt. 9 Amherst/Northampton
- Turn rt. on Rt. 9 and immediately cross the Conn. River on the Coolidge Bridge
- 5 miles
- Turn left onto S. Pleasant St.

From the northern half of eastern MA, NH, Maine:
- Pick up Rt. 2 West (Possibly from I95 or I495)
- Exit 16 toward Rt. 202 S/Daniel Shays Highway toward Amherst Belchertown
- 14.5 miles
- Turn right onto Amherst Rd.
- 6.3 miles. The road will turn from Amherst Rd to Pelham Rd to Main St.
- You will be In the center of Amherst. Amity St. is in front of you.
- The Jones Library is the second building on your right.
Saturday Events – Optional, Additional Costs May Apply
Because the main event is on a Sunday, we have loaded up Saturday with optional activities. Note these are in addition to cost of the moot on Sunday.
- Private Emily Dickinson House Tour, 10am (additional $8, discounted for the group) with Emily Dickinson Collections tour at the library, 1pm
- If there is interest, optional excursions to a local book fair and game room.
