A transcript is not required at the time of application. However, an official undergraduate transcript will be required upon acceptance into the program. Students who fail to provide an official undergraduate transcript within one term of starting the M.A. program will be removed from the program.
If your transcript is in a language other than English, you are required to verify it through a professional credential translation service. Please submit your transcript upon acceptance to Educational Credential Evaluators in order to complete your application for admission.
Applicants from outside the US are welcome to apply.
As of 2021, there are specific states in the US from which we cannot yet accept credit students. See the list of states from which we are currently able to accept applications.

Why do you need my photo as part of the application?
This is only required in order to prove the person who has applied to take courses is actually the person attending the lectures and discussion sections. Your photo is not shared outside of the Signum Admissions team and the faculty member who affirms that the photo matches the student; your photo will not be used for marketing purposes.

Your writing sample should be long enough to showcase your writing skills. A sample of 3 to 4 pages double-spaced is often sufficient, particularly if you are using a paper written for a prior undergraduate or graduate course.
My degree is in mathematics/biology/sciences. Can I succeed in a humanities program?
Yes! We have many students from all academic backgrounds apply to Signum University’s programs. Our Writer’s Forge helps students without a humanities background hone their academic writing skills, if needed, and our preceptors and lecturers are happy to guide students through writing assignments. In addition, our required course LITZ 506 Foundations in Critical Reading and Research is designed to help all students, not just those from science backgrounds, to learn the foundations of humanities research and writing.
I’m not ready to apply. Can I try a course before applying for credit?
Absolutely! If you are not yet ready to apply to the M.A. program or graduate diploma program but would like to see what our courses are all about, we encourage you to consider auditing. You could audit in the asynchronous Anytime Audit of your choice; audit as a Discussion Auditor for an upcoming course; or audit as a Premiere Auditor for an upcoming first-run of a new course.
